A Defining Moment in Sicilian Motorsport

The Porsche 550 A Spyder 1500 | Targa Florio 1956 | Official Poster celebrates one of Porsche’s most historic victories, a race that helped forge the brand’s endurance legacy.
Rendered entirely in black and white, the artwork captures Umberto Maglioli at the wheel of the Porsche 550 A Spyder 1500, powering through the demanding Sicilian course of the Targa Florio. The design’s monochrome composition evokes the raw emotion of 1950s racing, while the title — embossed in light blue foil — adds a subtle, modern accent.
Each piece is part of a limited edition of 550 copies, printed on premium paper and officially licensed by Porsche. A timeless collectible that pays tribute to the moment when endurance and engineering met on the mountain roads of Sicily.

Story behind

The 1956 Targa Florio: A Porsche Breakthrough

On June 10, 1956, Sicily’s mountainous roads hosted one of the most defining victories in Porsche history. The Targa Florio, a grueling 720-kilometer race over narrow, twisting roads, was a true test of man and machine.
Against larger and more powerful competitors, Umberto Maglioli drove solo for over seven hours, guiding the lightweight Porsche 550 A Spyder 1500 to a stunning overall victory — Porsche’s first at the event.
That triumph marked the beginning of Porsche’s enduring legacy in endurance racing — a moment that defined the brand’s spirit for generations to come.
