Product description

Neighborhood

Rene Arnoux's Ferrari screams past two of Motown's legends - Armando's Mexican Cuisine and Detroit's own Stroh's Beer, during the opening laps of the 1983 Detroit Grand Prix. The circuit wound through a number of micro-neighborhoods and Armondo's rooftop awarded Armando's reular customers and now new local F1 fans both a low-key atmosphere and a view worth a fortune for the race ticket holders in the temporary stands. Arnoux took the pole but was out early due to electrical gremlins. Michele Alboreto came through with his Tyrrell for his second victory and a series of regrettable "lasts" - the last of the season's three non-turbo victories, the last for a normally aspirated engine until the turbos were banned after the 1988 season, and the last of a record 155 wins for the workhorse Cosworth DFV. Sadly, it was the last victory for the legendary Tyrrell team.
